SJN Expands Support in Valley

Dear Friends of SJN:
We hope this finds you, your families and businesses doing well.
If you hadn’t heard, SJN is now working beyond North Phoenix.
SJN volunteers continue to meet the growing demand of job seekers for training and networking in North Phoenix at Temple Chai. We are excited to share we have expanded our outreach to the Southeast and West Valley.
This accomplishment came about in part through a collaboration and partnership with the Maricopa County Community Colleges. Our contacts at the community colleges are great folks who make it easy to work with them, and they support our mission to provide support and resources to job seekers.
Did you know that community colleges in Arizona have career centers with resources available to the general public? That’s right, you don’t have to be a student to participate in resume reviews, interview coaching and more.
In addition to the college‘s support, the expansion has been supported by our dedicated and talented volunteer board members, community supporters and members—good friends like you! We’ve updated our curriculum offerings, added additional special programs and offer evening events.
We continue to work without pay and look to the community for donations to meet necessary operating expenses.
On the SJN website you can check the events calendar for schedules activities. www.southwestjobnet.com/events-calendar/
In addition, there is a separate page for July events at each location:
North Phoenix (Temple Chai-daytime)
Southeast Valley (one of two community colleges-evenings)
West Valley (Glendale Community College-evenings)
A special event panel discussion on generational issues in theworkplace is planned at Gateway Community College on July 29 in the evening.
We are offering train-the-trainer opportunities for people interested in presenting our curriculum in future. If you are interested in learning more, please contact me.
We hope to see you at an SJN event soon.
Your support in helping to spread the word of our work. You are making an impact! We regularly see 200 people at our N. Phoenix meetings, and the other two locations which launched in the last month are already seeing 100 participants per event.
Thank you and good wishes,
Christine Vicari Founder-Executive Director
